Hello
New here, just now found this forum, just registered. I'm an alcoholic, I need to quit, plan to quit. Not sure the point of this post, mostly to make me feel better and reach out, which is out of my comfort zone.

How about dedicating sobriety to her memory, at least for a month and then see how you feel after? I did the same when my Dad passed and then found I actually preferred being sober x
There's a brand new 'December' thread, just started this morning, so you've arrived at a perfect time for joining it. It's all people who are at the same stage of quitting

Really sorry about your Mom - nothing worse than losing a parent.

There’s never a perfect time to quit drinking so you need to do it when you get the moment of clarity as they’re fleeting and you never know when/if you’ll get another. Today is as good a day to stop as any. Dedicate your life to keeping sober and recovering and you’re in with a chance. There’s a truly wonderful life in sobriety and recovery 🙏
Hello! Welcome to SR. This site has been immensely helpful is helping me get to the point where I wanted to make a permanent commitment to being sober and the support and information is great here. Read around xx
I’m sorry about your mom. It’s hard losing parents. Both of mine have passed and it still pains me although it’s been years. I’m glad you’ve found the forum. I’m sure you’ll find it a good source of support. I have. I hope to read more from you .
