Weather and exercise

Hi nice people,

It is chilly here this morning. I have not had proper exercise in 18 days.
When I was drinking I would walk 2 miles a day to get my booze in the morning. Lots of walking at least 6 miles total around to get to my pubs/booze/people etc. No car I gave it up while working in the city.
Never had the funds to get one back since I have been unemployable the last couple years. I went through alot of jobs and it is heart wrenching for me now. I kept the cycle going hence all the dejection/guilt/pain.
I said on another board active alcoholism is war with life. I do believe that.

I decided I am going to go for a walk this morning. Ok I wrote it out going now. I wish everyone a Sober productive Tuesday. Self care, positive thoughts and serenity today

Glad you decided to go for that walk. For me running (with rock music) is my biggest pleasure right now. But yeah also walking - I've really noticed the difference now in my moods when I just sit around all day compared to walking about town. I was also more active as a drinker 'cause I was a bartender and now I see how many calories that burned etc. It's a pretty healthy job ironically, at least in that way...

Insightful.

Maybe that's why "surrender" is such an essential part of recovery, at least for adherents of AA.

Yeah I would walk all over to get my fix. Anyhow- I went for a nice sober walk in the rain. 3 miles- so grateful I did. I think posting here motivated me. Its nice to check in and say DONE! drinking some hot tea now.
Carl (I love your posts) you walk the talk-Yesterday I went to a meeting and listened. A lot of Honorable Veterans spoke to the group. It dawned on me Alcoholism is war on life. All in the room for the same reason- to beat this disease for 24 hours

I just got back from the meeting very inspiring. I need to get on my knee's I forgot this morning. So weird I actually thought of a pint and a wet bench.
I think its because I was out and about walking. I broke through the feelings
and I am home warm and safe.

Thanks everyone so glad I realized I can start my day over at any time today.
