Middle of week four
Middle of week four
This is just a quick post, as I am getting ready to go to work, but this is the first morning I have noticed that, not only do I not have a hangover, but the morning depression/low mood following alcohol, is/has lifted.
I am having a lot of other positives happen to me along the way (as well as a couple of challenges/urges that I have had to deal with), that I will post about later.
Thanks everyone at SR for your support.
Until my next post...

We said it gets better 😀 You’ve had a rough few years you said which has made quitting harder.
There’s no reason, after four weeks, why you can’t now quit for good. Well done so far.
What challenges did you mean by the way? Urges to drink or other?

First day back at work after the summer hols and not drinking when I got home, which is what I always did. I had an urge whilst on the bus in heavy traffic, but that soon passed. Felt good to get home and just put my feet up and relax without the booze getting in the way . A great feeling!

Good stuff, even I had an urge today (after 8 months sober), but as you now know, urges soon go away if not fed. It gets to the stage where it’s easier to ignore the urge for a few minutes than spend weeks/months weaning yourself off alcohol.
