Really hard day!

Spent all day (day 9) wanting to drink. Ended up going running and sleep instead.

Anyway i work in a bar/restaurant. Spent all shift thinking about drinking, but i didnt. But I shouldnt be proud.

I asked a colleague for a glass of wine (we get two free drinks per shift) and he refused to serve me since i’ve done so well. So i then had to ask another colleague (who would have done) but i took a couple of minutes and thought about my boyfriend. So i walked out and went home

i quit smoking 3 years ago next week. I wouldnt thank anyone for a cig. Yuck! Hope i can get to that point with alcohol.......

Congrats on your 9 days!
Those early days are rough - what happened to you isn't uncommon. You were greatly tempted - but did not drink - so yes, you should be proud.

Great job on making it through today! I had it easier in my early sobriety not having to work around it. That must be tough

It gets easier to not drink as a normal behavior. Try practicing gratitude to strengthen your sobriety. It helped me a lot.

Great job thinking it through. You won't miss alcohol in the near future if you keep it up!

You could have drank but you didn't, you thought about it, thought about your boyfriend and you walked out and went home. You did yourself proud, you deserve to feel proud. You did well.
Have you joined the 'class of June' here? If not, then think about joining it, you'll be with people then who are at the same stage as you in your recovery.
Daily gratitude is a good thing to practice too, gratitude plays a big part in my recovery, it's worth giving it a try.
You can do this. xx

I managed to make it through.

Day 10 i had about 3 hours of cravings leading up to finishing work.

Day 11......

Got cravings right now. Think it’s because i have to go to the supermarket.
