Day 1 is done, on to day 2
Made it through the first 24 hours again. Slept pretty well but feeling a little dizzy today.
Could that be dehydration?
I moved to a new place a week ago and a good friend is coming to visit.
She is not a drinker so it will be good.
I was a private drinker, using alcohol to rid myself of anxiety and depression and sometimes under the guise of celebrating something.
Rarely drunk in public though.
Sometimes it was just trying to recapture a feeling from years ago when I thought alcohol was “fun”.
Something else has changed in that now there is no buzz, just depression and then un-wellness.
Social events can also derail me.
The “just this once” mentality and pressure really affects me.
Guess I am too much of a people pleaser.
Situations where my energy gets drained by negative people or situations can derail me.
One day, one hour at a time.

Good job starting day 2. Early sobriety is a good time to stay in and focus on yourself. Socializing will come again. Take it easy on yourself - eating, napping, and watching tv are great activities in the early days.
Melski, good job on getting through Day 1. And, you're right, being a people-pleaser is dangerous for us. I think that learning to say 'No' and feel okay about it, was one of the most important lessons I learned in early recovery.
Congratulation for day 2.Miles of journey begins from a step.So first steps counts for a sober journey .If good or bad journey first step is the begining so make it one step a day !!
Remember that one drink made you drunk so one sober step can give you a sober life !
Day 37 to myself .
clarity on brain .
Enjoy sobriety ...
