Congrats on setting boundaries to protect your sobriety, Atlast9999.
Your in-laws sound exactly like my deceased parents.
My mother was an out-of-her-mind drunk (every night, no exceptions) and my dad was a heavy drinker and an even heavier enabler.
But they had a lot of smelly opinions and ideas.
My in-laws, on the other hand, became surrogate parents to me.
They were loving and mature.
My parents exhibited no feelings and they were immature and ill-equipped for living in the outside world.
Your son has a great mom.
