Don’t beat yourself up. It’s the past. You can make minimum payments and you will have it paid off by the time you are my age for sure. Imagine how much you save by not drinking, not buying alcohol, getting a higher paying job because you are sober, avoid legal problems and lawyer payments. Give them $10 a month and act like the isn’t there for your first few months, maybe even year of sobriety. The past is the past. Eyes forward. Let that hospital bill motivate you to stay sober, not cause a relapse which will cost you even more.

I was admitted into the hospital for almost 2 weeks without insurance. You can't worry about anything other than getting healthy. Most of my bills were covered by different charities, and the rest of my bills I pay whatever I can every month. No biggie.
