Friz,

Definately see a Dr.

My addiction had me believing my job was causing some of my medical issues.

I had anxiety, spatial disorientation, high BP, sleep issues etc etc etc.

It was all just the booze.

Now, I still have anxiety, but it getting better by the moment.

When I quit, things seemed to get worse and then slowly got better and better.

It felt like 2 steps forward, 1 step back. I slowly got used to this. Now, I feel very normal almost all of the time.

Yesterday, at the gym, I started obsessing about the chance I may get passed up for a huge promotion at work.

Then I remembered...I am lucky to be alive and even have a decent job. I don't deserve a promotion. I made my own bed. I need to man up and accept I was a drunk loser for many many many years.

Hope this helps you or anyone keep it togrther.

Thanks.

If you intend to do this outpatient, I still recommend medical supervision.

Talk to a doctor, get them to prescribe anti-seizure meds such as Valporate, and let them come in to your home to check in on you several times a day.

(Just my experience, with 10+ seizures)

I'm surprised and shocked that a hospital would discharge someone who is so obviously undergoing the worst sort of alcohol withdrawals. Maybe it's because I live in the UK but here the hospital would have kept someone in until it was safe for them to go home. The treatment is also free. In the UK we also have free home detox schemes for people at risk of having seizures etc.

As everyone else has said, get back to the doctor. 6 librium are not nearly enough to get you through serious withdrawals. I was in rehab for the past three weeks and was given 8 librium a day (2 pills, 8am, 12 pm, 4pm and 9pm). They slowly cut down on the dosage but I was still taking it after three weeks and they sent me home with instructions to take 6 a day until I return for the second half of the program in 10 days.

My brother frizzer

This is frizzer's brother. I came across this while going through his things. He passed away a few days ago due to another seizure.cardiac arrest. He was only 40. just... Saw that this was a group of people that were helping him and concerned about him, he told me this forum was a source of great comfort and help and i wanted to thank you all. The grip of the alcohol was just too strong for him. I am just destroyed by this. I just saw people asking how he was and thought you deserved to know and my heartfelt thanks for trying, as we all did, for this to have ended differently.

How tragic. My condolences.

With my own recovery going well, and all the success I see here on Sober Recovery, it's easy to forget that this addiction is a killer.

I am so incredibly saddened by this.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences and know he was trying to overcome this horrific, sicking, maddening illness.

Im going to have a little talk with God now and ask him to take care of our Frizzer.

Blessings to you and your family.

This is so horribly sad. I am so sorry for your loss. Thank you for posting this and it may help others here to learn about seizures and get the proper medical treatment for them. Frizzer could be any one of us. His passing may prevent the death of others on this board.

Prayers and strength to you and your family, I am so sorry you are going through this. Everyone at SR is standing by your side and if you ever need to talk or need support yourself there is a family and friends forum here too. x

My heart goes out to you Frizzer's brother and to all his friends and family. Many thanks for taking the trouble to inform us at SR, that was very thoughtful in such difficult circumstances.
