Back to square one
Hi noaddedsugar. Great update! Glad you are feeling better! That’s great about sober January, then saying to people you felt so good that you just decided to give it up altogether. Chances are you really will feel that way anyway so you won’t be lying .
Besides posting here, have you thought about a long term plan? For me to stay sober long term, I had to completely change myself - my beliefs, thoughts, behaviors, habits, relationships. Therapy, lots of reading recovery books, yoga, meditation, exercise have all helped.
Good luck on your journey!

I hope you stay sober! It's not easy, but it can be simple! Stick around here, they helped me immensely 7.5 years ago, well, I was lurking much, much longer before I could really attempt sobriety!
Keep moving forward!!!
Keep moving forward!!!
NAS - same withdrawal symptoms, self loathing, secretivibe ‘how bad it really is to most people’ - we could be a “brother from another mother”.
I’ll keep a track on your progress (UK here too) but it would be great if you joined us in the January class?
Regards,
JT

Thanks for the well wishes everyone!
Day 3 and still going strong! No cravings and the thought of alcohol turns my stomach. With regards to a long term plan I'm going to carry on posting and visiting this site and improve my fitness. I've just ordered a fitness tracker so can't wait for that to come. Before the drinking took hold I used to be a complete gym bunny and I totally loved it! I used to avoid alcohol purposely because I loved the gym so much and couldn't do it hungover.. so I think getting back into that would be a good start.
Good idea JustTony. I'm going to bounce on over to the January Class thread now!
