How to really....really make sobriety priority one?
I made sobriety my mission, as if it was an order or directive. Everything revolves around my sobriety and making sure that I stay sober. For the first two or three months I avoided any social situation in which alcohol was involved because my default behavior was to drink. Once I got over that initial period and developed my "sober muscles," it became much easier and I was able to go to social functions at sports bars, etc, without any trouble. Now I wouldn't dream of taking a drink under any circumstances.
