What is AVRT?

I keep coming across this on the website, is this a counseling session with a psychologist in treating addiction.?

AVRT has its own, slightly cryptically-named, sub-forum which has threads explaining what it is:

It's kind of like a DIY CBT. It's a simple method of identifying the AV (Addictive Voice) as distinct from your "mind/self" to allow you to control it. My explanation is probably harder to understand than the actual thing itself!

You don't need any meetings or doctors to use it. It's not a therapy session with a councilor, it's a dialog between you and your AV.

Others can speak with more expertise on its techniques. I can speak on its efficacy - or is perhaps the most impactful thing, outside of SR, on me getting sober

I used SR and AVRT as my main tools to get sober.

It has been a miracle for me as well. Between AVRT and SR (this forum that is) I've been sober for nearly six years now.
