I'm feeling happy
I don't know if it's the medication or the hope for a better future but I think I might make it this time. Only yesterday I was drinking myself into a blackout and wishing for death. A lot can change in a day.
Great to hear Laura. As the alcohol leaves our system, positivity and hope return. You can certainly make it! Stay strong.
But ... don't get complacent either. Don't forget the despair that drove you to quit. Sometimes when we put some distance between ourselves and the bad times, we can kid ourselves into thinking it's ok to drink again. Don't fall into that trap.

Yes I've been hearing the same message for years but it doesn't sink in. It might be different this time. I realize I can't do anything in moderation. I never imagined I'd be someone who wakes up and starts drinking. I never thought after two years off drugs I'd spend $800 in one week. It is true we are powerless over drugs and alcohol. If I continue it's a death wish.
Make it different this time, Laura.
I know you're reaching out for help, from reading other threads on this forum. Keep doing that and keep posting here. Many of us at one time or another realised that our addictions would kill us. Yet through the hopeless feelings, something shone through from within us. Let that light within you come through and reach out to others who will pull you up.

Hi, Laura--I noticed that today you said there are no more online NA meetings, and yesterday you said there are no more online AA meetings. I just did a quick Google search and found that while one NA site said it was closing its online meetings b/c they felt it was important for those seeking help to go to f2f meetings, there were a number of others, both NA and AA, that still actively offer online meetings.
Here are a handful of links to get you started. Hope one of them will work for you.
