There are at least a couple of posters with long-term sobriety that I can think of whose comments are at best unhelpful and at worst useless.
That said, I certainly wouldn’t drink over it. Their feeble-mindedness and any decision to drink are independent of each other.

Excellent on 17 days, Mummy-- I agree with you. There is a way to give advice without sugar-coating and without meanness, still saying what needs to be said.
Our decision to drink is our own, though--no matter how cruel or unhelpful a comment may be it's always up to us to not use them as an excuse to drink.
This is a very well-moderated forum and I greatly appreciate the mods for making it so.
