It will be fine.

Distract.

Can you take a walk outside? Look at Nature. It fixes everything.

Go back and read your old posts. I know you've been here before. Is it worth it?

Everybody who has been successful at getting and staying sober has been right where you are now, where they stand at the line in the sand between sober and relapse. And they resist.

So can you. And so you must if you want to avoid going through the agony of day 1.

Keep posting, keep reading. Don’t drink. Like Bimini said, distract yourself.

You might want to practice changing your mindset. How about, I won't drink today or I control my thoughts, they don't control me, this voice in my head wants me to fail, wants to destroy me, I know it's a LIAR. I CAN do this, I can get sober, I can do whatever it takes to remain sober.

I deserve a good life, I deserve to be happy, I'm awesome!

Cravings pass, you'll never feel good about giving in, but you'll feel great if you don't. Build on that every day,Lorij.

I believe in you.

Well not to sound like a smarty pants but stop talking yourself into drinking and start talking yourself out of it. That is really the bottom line.

What is happening that drinking will make a lot better?

I agree with Dee. You are posting quite a bit (which is good) but seem to have no plan in place.
Do you have daily AA meetings in place? Perhaps SMART? An addiction therapist?

I'm glad it's passed Lori, and also so glad you posted here before you "convinced yourself". I agree with what others have said, its time to develop your comprehensive plan for staying sober. We're here for you through it all!

Not me, I am afraid. I caved every time. Something happened early on my AA journey through the steps and I found I never had to stand at that line again. The problem was removed.
