Thank you so much for your post, John. I can so relate to this, although I'm in my 20s. During my last binge I started expieriencing first symptoms of alcoholic neuropathy, and after a general blood test, I am now being sent for a scan because of my abnormal liver results. I'd never thought that's gonna happen to me - damaged nerves, possibly a liver disease...? No way. I remember thinking about the risks of heavy drinking and how it didn't really scare me, because I was sure I have at least 10-15 years till anything 'serious' happens, and who cares anyway, I'll quit... tomorrow.
