Stay put, eat well, read a good book or watch TV or Netflix. Call a friend or keep posting. You made it! So proud of you.

Thank you!! I hate that it was so nerve-racking... I don't want to be chained to the bottle, yet I can't stop obsessing over it. I try to think about all those terrible things that happen every time I drink, but I always downplay the bad...

I read somewhere on SR that the beast must be starved. It's soo true. I'll just keep pushing through it...

Snufkin have you read the crash course on rational recovery online? It's a big help when you are starting out xxx

I can also vouch for Rational Recovery (RR). My understanding of addiction and how to deal with it is based on RR. I did the crash course then read the book, several times. When I apply RR I stay sober, it really does work.

Glad you made it home safely. This reminded me of when I was quitting and trying to dodge every store, bar, ect. like they were the police or something.. pure madness! Use every method of recovery that you can get something from(I used them all for the most part) and post here before you drink. It's a whole new world out there when you're sober and not 'running' from anything any longer.

It is pure madness. Thank you! I want to be done with relapsing every few weeks, it gets so much worse each time.

Snufkin, this is day 8 for me and I am having similar cravings. Sometimes it is win the day and sometimes it is win the moment. Keep posting here. There are lots of people here that have gone through this and we can grow strong through their encouragement.

Thank you Marcutah! It is a tough battle, but I feel very lucky to discover SR.
