Annual SR Convention!

Just putting it out there.
If I ever needed purpose
My family obviously is a strong current of motivation!

But What are the chances of mAnifesting
real venues across
Different countries
Over different years
And we share our experiences!
I'm not well today but I have more than hope in spite of my condition!

I can get up
I can get well
I can organise communicate and I can help another person to recover.
Afterall this very SR community online began with a thought in someone's head and here we all are!
Life is short on this planet and people hAve and still are creating amazing things.
Just imagine a time a place a plan
Ghoster meets other anonymous screen names
We drink soft drinks we inspire we are fearless we during out short time on earth
bring into being an amazing annual calender date for SR members and we save lives.
I have a creative mind and my mind just wants to help
Often all I see is run of the mill humdrum lives.
Jobs work family
Living in boxes
I mean ok it works for the family
Financial security etc
But what about vision what about passionate communication what about miracles!!
Whether you believe in God or not or whatever version you believe in or not
That's yours to have and hold.
My belief is in mAnifesting Power
The Power of contribution
Of sharing and giving
It makes my life worth breathing for!
Give give give
And watch the wounded walk again!!
SR annual conventions
Starting 2019?
Any takers.
?
Because it might just help to save this sick addicts life as a starting point at least... there are many more me's out there most definitely!!!
I need grist for my mill
Gumption for my soul
And fire for my love!

AA began with passion and courage
The phone directory in the hotel lobby
Meeting with DR Bob!
Look at how many 12 step fellowships there are world wide now and many of them have annual gatherings.. Fact!!
Why not SR?
Come on people talk to this crazy dreamer!
But I swear to the heavens
If I can start this ball rolling
I'll work hard
Save up and I will show up
Unmasked sober and full of smiles!
See we have the gift of technology so all my posts are here hope pain distress and courage
This is a unique fellowship!
G

I know several people here who've met up over the years and had a great time.

SR will never promote anything like that officially tho cos we know that a lot of our members value their anonymity and privacy, and that's cool too

Interesting idea Ghoster. I think you will have to take the lead on this "unofficial" event. You might even consider expanding the idea to make it a meeting place for the many different online recovery communities.

I thought about it at one point, but I like people, not knowing who I am in the flesh!

I like this idea a lot.

Many of my friends from all over the world are from music boards; we've met in person and had gatherings. It's always a good experience, we know a lot about each other from our online interactions and have a love of certain musics in common.

What would have more in common than a search for sobriety?

We could share our stories directly to each other, talk about what works for us and listen to what helps others maintain their sobriety.

I don't like the idea of inviting other fellowships or groups, but rather to exchange our experience in a fellowship or method agnostic way, much like we attempt to do online.

If someone does not want to participate due to wanting to remain anonymous or for any other reason, they don't have to. No judgement.

The music board I moderated had regional and world gatherings, as we were a worldwide site with various local chapters. At the official site gathering, we'd have people from all over the world.

I'd love to further discuss this and would volunteer to help to organize it with the site mods and admins, or under their guidance, as I've done this multiple times previously.
