Helpful actions , what are yours ?
More focused at those in early recovery including me at 5 months there are things I do during the holidays that keep me sober .
1: Stay away from pubs clubs and parties . I do not care who I offend or what they think ,MY sobriety come before everything .
2 : Avoid the drink isle in the supermarket if possible if not zone out and don't reminisce .
3:Focus on 2018 as being a wonderful sober happy healthy year ,working on a plan for fitness ,working on plans for new garden or home projects .
Be proud of your sobriety whether its a day a month or a year or more .Its yours , own it, hold on to it with dear love ,let no one or no thing take it away . and wishing each and every one of you a happy healthy sober prosperous new year .

Avoiding situations where people drink goes a long way.
Speaking of supermarkets the other day I saw a bar inside of a supermarket. I'm really glad they didn't have those around me when I was drinking. There were a couple of TVs and they had a decent crowd, in the middle of the store by the alcohol section. It was insane.

In the past when I've tried to get sober, I've focused a lot about what I'm NOT going to do, which is helpful to some extent. This time, I'm trying to focus on what I WILL do instead of drinking, which seems to work a little better so far (only on day 12, so we'll see, haha).
Drink lots of water
Use a heating pad to relax (I thought this was dumb until I tried it)
Plan projects, execute responsibilities (especially the tedious ones I've avoided in the past)
Try to serve others
