Day 90...Life has gotten so much better
Hello everyone. I haven't posted much lately on how I'm doing, just been posting on the 24hr everyday. But today is a bit of a milestone for me. 90 days..... And I gotta say my life has improved drastically.
I still attend AA meetings regularly (usually 3 to 4 a week), talk with my sponsor every other day, practice the 12 steps the best I can and come on SR daily.
My whole attitude and outlook on life has changed, I have hope today, I have faith today and most importantly I have a choice today.
Life is still throwing curve balls at me but I have a way to deal with them, instead of hiding them with a bottle (or a can) lol. Beer was my drink. Each and every day I grow a little, I get a little stronger. Each and every day I'm getting better. I can look myself in the mirror and smile at myself and say "Mike" your worth it and your doing great.
Before this all started, I couldn't string a day of sobriety together, I was a daily drinker and in the end was combining sleeping meds, benzos and opiates with alcohol. In the end, I wanted to die, had thoughts of suicide and even landed up in the hospital on a suicide attempt.
Today, 90 days later; I have no desire to drink, no obsession and I'm finding some happiness and freedom that I never had before.
I'd like to thank SR and all that post. Your story's, experiences and strength have helped me so much. This site brings hope and inspiration to me and I'll continue to use SR daily to remind me that I'm not alone in this struggle.
