24 hours sober.
At 8:21 pm on 10/8/15, I poured my last beer out. I just finished my First 24 hours and I am scared about trying to sleep. I have had some sobriety under my belt, but I am sick of starting and stopping. I know that the first couple of days and nights are hard, but getting past the first 24 is huge. I just am worried tonight about getting some rest and closing my mind. Any help or suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you all
24 hours is yuuuge. YYYYuge I tell ya! Congrats. That's how it started for me. I was literally one day at a time, sometimes an hour at a time. After a while you put one day together, then another, and it grows from there!
I read alot. Drank coconut water and teas. Counted the minutes to hours waiting for the alcohol to get out of my body. I tried not to force sleep but rather concentrated on relaxing my body and mind. Hope you are feeling better today.
Hi and welcome Spt0331
I spent a lot of time on SR the first few weeks - the support was very very helpful to me.
The best advice I can give is eat well, try and stay calm and rest, even if you can't sleep so well right now.

24 hours is wonderful, Spt - and as you know, it will get easier. You don't have to go back to that awful life. I hope you'll stay here with us - read and post. It's a great distraction & you'll never feel alone.
Welcome - so glad to have you here.

24 hours is amazing, Spt! It's the beginning of a wonderful, sober life. Stick close by here; SR was a life-saver to me in early sobriety and I still stop by at least once a day; I don't ever want to be complacent again. Wishing you all the best in your sober journey.
