I am 8 days sober and very excited about my decision to stop drinking . It's hard to believe I started enjoying drinking on the weekends to finding myself drinking every day. I had no idea how drinking would take control of my life. I hope to get know some of you on this forum and hope to be able to contribute to helping all of us put this disease to bed .

Hi dragonfly, well done on eight days! I'm relatively new here too but I found that joining a class (class of September is up and running, look for the thread on the newcomers page) really helped me and also checking in to 24 hour recovery every day helps as well as the gratitude threads. This site is a gold mine for people like us, jump right in!
