Sober 1 week tired and grateful

Hi everyone, made it through a week, first 2 days were the toughest , but feel good now. Stayed busy today went to gym and did yardwork. There were a couple cravings but thanks to some of the tools I have learned on this site I made it through. I have a long way to go but I feel I'm going to make it this time. Thanks for all of your support.

1 week - that's wonderful, Joeshope. You're wise to keep busy and occupy your mind & body - well done. Proud of you.

Way to go on a week! And also the gym and yard work. It's a nice guilt free way to lay head to pillow in the evening knowing we're living healthy. Waking up with no regrets ain't too shabby either.

A week was always very very hard for me. I had dozens of 6 day quits, and Saturday would always team up with my excuse making to cause me to choose to slip. Get through that first one, get through the second, muscle through a hard day at work, an argument with a significant other, or some other challenge in your life and experience how much better it is sober, and it'll get easier and start to stick!

Thanks Axeman I've had a lot of former attempts also. I never made it past four days. I would always find a reason to drink again. This time is gonna be different.

The first week or two are the hardest. If you can just get thru the first two weeks sober, things are bound to look up. It takes time but after a couple weeks you should be seeing some improvement. Take good care of yourself and stay sober no matter what!

It is always very exciting and gratifying to hear people making it through the first week or two. They are the toughest and things start to get better the longer you go. You should be proud of yourself!
