I can't stop thinking about a wine.

My children are away and I'm relaxing on my own. Wine keeps creeping into my thoughts but I am playing the scene out as to what could happen if I drink. This is the first rough day in a while. 😳 I'm on day94. I will not drink today.

Good on you Gemini. I find playing the tape forward very helpful.

Keep posting and do not drink!

You got this. Stick close to the forum. Days 90 to 100 were awful for me - very emotional. You are in it!
Try to take a nap, or have something yummy to eat.

Certainly do HALTs and if possible call or go be around sober people. This is a difficult moment, but only a moment. Hang in there and take positive steps.

If your thinking leads to drinking then you'll very soon be sinking.

I was warned 3 months was a difficult milestone. Just had a few nachos! Yummy!

That's a very negative quote, don't you think? In my experience one can not help the thoughts that pop in one's mind; however one can control how one acts onthe thought! ☺

Didn't mean it to be negative. Just made it up. Thought it was a good reminder to not take the first drink.

Sorry. Was not intending to be mean.

Just had a few nachos! Yummy!

i was gonna say call in the big guns - mac 'n cheese, grilled cheese, anything sauteed in butter, homemade chocolate chip cookies. WHOLE milk (like there is really another option.....).

your senses, your body, THINK they want wine to soothe things....the real message is your psyche is crying out for some self care, some pleasant assault of the senses, something soothing. til now wine/booze has been that go to fix.........but that is not truly what your body/mind/spirit want......it just happens to work, short term.

we're doing twice baked potatoes and stuffed sweet onions in our smoker.....so we got the wood chip mesquite aroma, plus we cooked off bacon. then i sauteed small dice onions, jalepenos, bacon, and that was stuffed into the onions. and three russet potatoes, greased down in bacon fat. all into the bradley smoker. i can't begin to tell you what it smells like in the house right now!!!!

our neighbor just yelled over the fence, WHAT are you guys cooking? it smells like The Fair over here!

sorry - rant. but the point is......there are tons of other things you will find that fill that space. just be open to the universe.

I'm glad you're thinking it through Gemini.

The idea of what we can get away with is a pervasive one, but I reckon it's entirely AV.

I want to be better person, and for that reason alone, I no longer drink, whether I'm alone or surrounded in a crowd
