45 days sober. My cousin, not so fortunate

I lost my cousin on Saturday to addiction. We grew up together. Playing in the creek. Fishing. Watching scary movies. I used to spend a week every summer at their place as a little girl.

Saturday he lost his battle with drugs and alcohol. It would be so easy for me to pick up a bottle and numb the feelings. I haven't had to deal with emotions for 6 years.

I hope he's found peace. The struggle with addiction and recovery is a hard battle and not everyone wins. Hug your loved ones tight tonight for me.

Sorry for your loss Babyedwards. Hopefully you will find the strength to continue on the sober road. How are you feeling these days? Still getting the anxiety?

I'm so sorry for your loss. 45 days is fantastic, and I am so glad you chose to stick with sobriety to honor the moemory of your cousin.
