This one is amazing:

"Some people, like this couple, have learned that it’s easier to make the journey to sobriety together."

This was posted here a few months ago (same pics, but dated earlier). There seems to be a lot of lighting tricks involved, some makeup and some other stuff at play. There's also photo shop in many of the faces.

Not saying it can't happen, but on my weight loss forum, it helps to take pics in the same mirror, same angle, and same lighting. I'd like to see this down with those pics. Not doubting it can happen, but this is pretty extreme.

Great stuff. To the point about the photos being in different lighting, several of the subjects were is bars, hospital beds and mug shots. I can understand them not recreating the original setting, lol.

Not posting my photos, but at 9 months sober I've lost almost 20lbs (205 to 185) I have/had fatty liver, but recent blood work was all good. My face is much less puffy and red and I don't have that hard gut that sticks out any more. Now I'm just soft in the middle. :-O. The rock hard gut and redness/puffiness in the face is pretty typical and a big warning sign of heavy drinking and all the damage that goes along with it. Scary how long and hard I had to drink to get there.

It is inspiring. I've begun taking photos at the same window, same time of morning, every day. NOT pretty. It will take more than makeup and very talented Photoshopping to make a difference anytime soon.

Same here. My belly was huge before, and firm with bloat. I looked like I was pregnant. I've lost 8 pounds in 2 months. I'm soft in the middle too, but I can imagine getting to a point when it's actually flat again.

All I"m doing is NOT DRINKING and eating better by default, because I"m not stuffing myself with bad food mindlessly late at night while drinking and/or eating greasy, bad food when I wake up feeling awful.

I also see a huge difference in my face. And I'm noticing people noticing. Which is encouraging.

On the shallow end of motivation to quit: So many of us in middle age long for the magic of a makeover or even cosmetic procedures to look fresher/younger. By far the easiest is: STOP poisoning ourselves with alcohol. Duh.

It doesn't cost a thing, and even saves money.

This is amazing! Thanks for posting!

I'm actually down 4 pounds in the 18 days since I quit drinking. Quick math tells me I was averaging about 23 beers per week and 2 bottles of white wine. That's approximately 3,500 calories. Sometimes I drank cider rather than beer which is twice as many calories!

I love these sort of pictures. The physical changes are amazing of course, but what gets me is that look of life being back in their eyes.
