Hi all, I'm new to this please be gentle,
Hi mate,
Good to hear you've decided to lay off the steam.
If you're in WA there is a government run place called Cyrenian House which helped me a lot. You need to get a referral from your GP.
They might help you figure out why you drink so much.
For me - I went to AA and I went to Cyrenian house and took medication. It was the medication and Cyrenian that helped me kick alcohol.
If you're not in WA, there are probably similar services in your state, but you'll probably need to see your GP anyway for a referral.
Good luck!

Hi all, just a update
G'day everybody,
My last update was evening of day 3.
Day 4 was ok, not as productive as I could have been still feeling a bit odd. Anyway just left work and got a call saying my 2 longest staff members were in a car accident in one of my work cars and one of them was still stuck in the car,
I started feeling all sorts of things. Went to the accident site and both blokes where shook up but ok.
Very stressful and even at the time of the emergency services being there I was thinking how am I going to get threw this one?
Got home at 1am wife had gone to work kids where at grandparents so just sat thinking if I had a couple quiet ones now know one would know. I have had I really crap day.
And found so many excuses to get straight back on it.
Then I thought how much I pride my self on being tuff.
Told my self over and over "this is just a test to see how soft I actually am!!"
So in the end I had a bowl of ice cream (first dessert for years) a cup of tea and went to bed.
Woke up Wednesday morning (Day 5)
Still strong, clear headed and ready to sort this mess out.
So here I am in bed on day 7 still struggling for the want to have a few beers with the boys at the footy, but feeling like I'm winning for the moment.
Thanks for everyone's support,
Still a long road but the first 7 days are out the way.
Bring on day 8.
Cheers.
