New Day One

Haven't had anything in about 18 hours. No withdrawals, other than crappy sleep and some bad anxiety. Feeling actually pretty good right now.

I will hit the gym this evening, weights and cardio. If I feel weak I'll post on here. Also have an appointment to meet with a counselor who specializes in alcohol recovery and anxiety disorders. I am hoping he'll be able to assist me with a sobriety plan.

I am looking forward to not being hungover Saturday morning and getting a good workout in. Thanks all.

So many on here are a real inspiration.

Congrats on making today the day Horn95. Seeing the counselor sounds like a great idea too, I wish you a good meeting and hope you can come up with a good plan.

A sobriety plan could be integral to your success, Horn.

Glad to hear that you will be speaking with a counselor about this.

Stay close, Horn.

Horn,

Is this your first attempt to quit or have you tried before?

Thanks.

Horn - Congrats on your Day 1. They're rough, but they don't last forever.

Horn,

Silly of me. I see you have tried.

You know the drill then.

I craved today a bit.

My anxiety is starting to really deminish.

But, i am over 700 days sober.

I relapsed about 100 times. I believe each relapse made the recovery longer.

I didn't know about kindling or addiction in general before. I didn't want to know until i was nearly drinking myself mad.

I am pretty sure folks lose their minds pretty much before they are able to drink themselves to physical death.

That seems to be my doom anyway.

Thanks.

Thanks all. Met with the counselor. It was really good. He is going to help me with a plan. Felt good to vent.

I have some serious sh** I need to deal with over the next several months. Millions of dollars potentially in play. And if things go south, I am looking at financial ruin and possibly being sued.

I need to be sober. If it all goes as bad as it could, I need to be sober to make it back. You guys are really helpful. My relapses would likely have been much worse without folks like SoberLeigh, Dee, Wolf, Thomas11, and on and on.

I know I can do this.

Horn, good for you in taking the first step. It's hard work but very worth it.
