Right!?! Don't think it doesn't happen. It just isn't smart to be rude or mean to a server who is going to bring you food.

Some of that will start to happen more consistently in 2018 out of sheer necessity.
(edit to add - sarcastically - one would think!)

I need to do some online shopping ASAP for my business trip because I literally have nothing to wear.

And I mean it.

Not looking forward to it though.

Shopping makes me stressful.

Agreed.

I try to be cheap so I end up a) picking up something from the thrift store where I can't try it on and can't return it and it doesn't fit or b) get something made cheap and it shrinks.

It's stressful because I worry that I will spend money on something I can't use or only use once. I don't buy expensive clothes that will last because my weight changes too much.

Yes, money issues make it tenfold stressful.

I am going to make it online this time because there is no way I will run around with my bronchitis and the rest of the week will be crazy.

Ahhh. I forgot! I need a suitcase too! I tossed my old one because it almost fell apart after 13 years of travelling with me.

I hate not having direct deposit. I have let as many as four checks pile up because I didn't feel like driving to the bank and have an aversion to doing it via the atm. But I think I'll go over there and allow someone to show me how to do it, as they typically offer to. I just have an irrational fear of it taking my check and it getting lost somehow or incorrectly processed.

That happened to me, with cash not cheques. Swallowed about £800. I got it back but had to wait a stressful 24 hours. I have never paid cash in that way since. I rarely did it anyway but a few customers will insist on paying cash an not asking for a reciept (they seem to think it will be cheaper but it isn't)

I got away with a duffle bag and a large laptop case for several business trips in the past, two 5 day trips and a 3 day trip. The problem was I had to pack it really tightly and carry it thru the airports.

Goodnight SW, petals.

I am looking online at car insurance renewals. It is one of those very rare occasions when it is an advantage being an old fart like me. Also I don't have any DUI's (I have a dozen booze outlets within 200 metres). On the other hand there are a lot of things that push my premiums up, if I claimed to be a doctor or a teacher it would save me a bit, Sales people like me are not deemed trustworthy I guess. Also living in London puts the premium up, especially as they seem to be under the impression that my part of London is usually on fire. These insurance types all wear business suits but a mask and a gun would be more honest.

Hi Soberwolf

Had a cigarette yesterday Sao but I didn't buy them. My upstairs neighbour rang me and asked if I had any and told her I had given up but felt sorry for her because she was not able to walk to the shops.

Maybe I saw it as a back door way to have one. She has been very sick for a long time now so made the walk to the shops and sure enough fell right back into the trap and smoked with her.

Have to see the doctor today because think I might have concussed myself following a drunken fall of last week. Was it you Midnight that said it was an accident you had that finally woke you up? This one, me too. So scary and feel like shite. Headache and 'sparkly' things in front of my eyes. It's improving, but need to get it checked out. Oh, woe.

Lucky too Gilmer with the apple pie, that's just like molten jam and can really scald.

Tired already and it's only 6:45am and need to prepare for the doctor. Find clean clothes, etc.

Super bargain on coffee yesterday. Got one kilo of ground coffee at less than half price. Following doctor will have another buttered croissant with coffee as cafe sits right outside his surgery.

Think you might be right about it being too early to quit smoking Sao and don't want to turn into one of those people who bite cigarettes from other people. I have a few remnants of dignity left.

Why 2018 Brenda? What is the significance? Didn't quite understand. And hopefully all of us can retain the child within whilst still being adult. I have trouble knowing where to put the adult and where to put the child.

Apologies for long post and will henceforth try to condense.
Have a great day/evening everyone.

That was so funny Sao, but so true.
