Hi I am new and would like some support.
Hi,
I've been an alcoholic on and off for approximately 10 years. More on than off. Recently I've had 11 days and 7 days sober.
I'm going through a divorce so I went crazy last year and drank every day for like, 6 months. Went to rehab which didn't really work.
I have a therapist now who is helping IMMENSELY. She made me realize that I have no support system (no friends or family) and too much free time.
I was in AA on and off as well. I went to a meeting yesterday instead of drinking! I also have 3 meetings I like to go to so I hope I can get to those, and find some new ones as well. I do have someone who is a sponsor technically but I hadn't talked to her since I went on the crazy many month binge, but I talked to her today and she was happy I contacted her.
Since I don't have a support system in real life, I hope I can get some support with you guys.

Welcome aboard. You'll find a lot of support here, so stick around.
I drank alcoholically for twenty years, the last ten were bad and a waking nightmare.
Sounds like you're ready to quit and you're taking steps in the right direction.
I went on some long benders, too. Never stopped trying to quit, though.
It's now been six years since alcohol crossed my lips, and I was a bad drunk.
There is always hope.
Best to you, and remember, you never have to drink again.
