After 40 years of abusing my body, I'm 25 days sober. Looking forward to daily words of encouragement, 53 and scared

SoberRecovery can be a great source of information and inspiration. I hope you read around and post often.

Welcome. I quit at 53. A daily drinker for 35 years. Haven't drank since Sept of 2010. It can be done.

I'm 51, approaching 2 years sober ( another couple of months) and had been drinking for 30 + years. It is possible, real and a decision you'll never regret.

I am on the doorstep of 58 years old, sober just over 2 years. This is a great group of people here, an amazing amount of knowledge and support to be found here.

Uncertainty can create fear and cause us to be scared, so I don't blame you. But this forum is full of people who did the same thing you're doing and never looked back. You can too. Congrats on your 25 days. I quit at 48.

I was deathly scared when I came here - but I'm glad I did
