Beginning day 2 and I actually slept

I was so exhausted last night that I went to bed at 9 pm. I actually slept until 5:20 am!!! I do remember having some odd dreams, but I am so thankful to get sleep. I realize tonight may be totally different.

Work today, then back to the gym after work. 6:00 emotional support AA meeting. Not sure what the difference is in that kind of meeting and a regular one, but I will find out.

Beginning day 2 of my new life. Feels good to have a whole day under my belt!!!

That's great.

I'll be curious to know what an "emotional support" meeting is- we don't have any around here with that title, that I know of- maybe it goes under a different moniker here....

The sleep thing got better for me. I was simply exhausted in every way and I slept a LOT at first- for weeks, really. I still take naps almost every day. At the end of my drinking, I had VERY vivid nightmares, which slowly turned into vivid dreams, which turned into "regular" dreams that I sometimes remember (I think that's what happens to normal people ) .

Good luck. Hope to keep seeing you around here.

Great job so far Sinderos. That insomnia after quitting can really get to people. I hope you keep getting the rest you need.

I was very surprised to have slept. I slept better than I have in a long time. I'm really tired now again. I know my body is going through a lot. I still plan to go to the gym after work and do my 20 minutes on the treadmill.

6:00 meeting with AA people. Then home to rest.

Well done Sinderos, I found sleep very hard to come by in early recovery. It is a cliche but true nonetheless, physical exertion helps should you need it

Awesome, Sinderos! The first few days of not being able to sleep were very disconcerting to me but it got better. If you're able to get good sleep already you're ahead of the curve!
