I'm determined to learn all about addiction so that I can effectively battle my alcoholism. The 2 books I checked out at the library are: 1. Understanding the high-functioning alcoholic: professional views and personal insights by Sarah Allen Benton and 2. Don't let the bastards get you down: 50 things every alcoholic and addict in early recovery should know by Georgia W.

Since I am a high functioning alcoholic I am most interested in that book.

I'm going to begin reading them tonight after the gym and before an AA meeting.

Failure is not an option this time.

getting out of self by being of service to others is the key

Good for you Sinderos. Reading is a great activity to keep our minds busy. When I first began my journey I read constantly. When the cravings hit, you need to be ready.
