Went to a meeting
I've thought numerous times over the last 18 months or so, "I really should give AA a try" but I think I just wasn't ready to face the emotions that doing so would bring up. I've spent so much time in the rooms as a loved one and in Al-Anon and I really wanted that to be my only need for the program. Not so much....
I was really scared but I did it and I'm so glad I did.

So many folks had already gone back out
as a reminder that I didn't want to be in
their shoes and chose to sit one hour of
my time each day learning new helpful,
healthier, positive ways to build a strong,
solid recovery foundation to live my life
upon moving forward.
I wanted to remain sober more than
returning to the misery I was in before.
So going to the AA school of hard knocks
taught me how to live healthier, happier,
honest way of life for some 26 yrs.
I continue to see that after all these yrs
alcohol and drugs is still kicking butt big
time and hasn't changed.
Good job on choosing to live and not
die from this addiction.
