Made it through new years

7 days sober and feeling good. Withdrawals have been under control. Came back today cause my wife is drinking at home. I know I won't drink it's crazy how the body starts to react when it knows it's close.

Thank you all. Her drinking actually strengthened my resolve. Watching her drunk with sober eyes had me thinking dang that's how I looked. Went to work today and felt great. Sleep still inconsistent but most withdrawals are gone. The smell of the drinks was actually nauseating. Hope everyone is well. Day 8 thank you everyone for the support you all really helped.

Fed up, congratulations on your 7 days! That is awesome, and I believe you can do this! Yes, seeing others drinking through sober eyes is a great motivator!

I get it

I get it Fedup. I'm in my first two weeks of recovery and my husband still drinks. It's hard because I will stay as far away as possible when he decides to drink, and I'm wondering if we're going to start being two people who share a house - at opposite ends of that house.

I'm thinking about how to have a talk with him about us trying to do this together. Even though he doesn't drink as much as I used to, we can both benefit from paying attention to our weight and overall health. I'll let you all know how it goes!

AND, congrats on starting 2017 sober!
