Hello
Hello.
I am the wife of an alcoholic.
I myself have been sober since 2001 when I had severe postnatal depression and drank so much I tried to commit suicide.
My husband has drunk snce his early teens. In our 26 years together he has periods of sobriety (maybe 4 or 5 times) , some as long as three years. This time he has been sober nine months (after hospitalisation in March) and I have just discovered he is drinking again.
I have joined this forum to see how I can help and the best way to approach this newest relapse (he does not realise that I know yet).
Thanking you all in advance

Hi. Welcome. Sorry for what brings you here.
It might be worth double posting this so it's in the Friends and Family area as well as in Newcomers so you get the benefit of other partners of alcoholics experience , strength and hope (many of them may not always check this area out on a regular basis ).
Have you considered AlAnon or similar?
Wishing you (and your partner) all the best in this journey of respective recoveries. BB
