Introduction

Hello Everyone,
Just to introduce myself. I have not had a drink in 3 days. I'm not sure what happened or why but this Wednesday morning a switch flipped and I found this site. I am grateful for that and that I no longer have purple teeth and a black tongue from the gallons of red wine I was chugging every night.

Thank you for the strength I am finding here.

Hi and thank you all for such a warm welcome. I started drinking a glass or two of wine now and then socially, gradually moved on to a bottle or two a couple of times a week, fast-forward 4 years and up to Wed this week I was finishing a box in 2 days. All over the last 6 years. Had a few drinking days as a teenager but could take it or leave it really and stopped for the entire 19 years I was married to exH.

I'm 45 and should be grateful that I didn't start down this path earlier on and this is the first time since I started drinking that I have stopped.

It is really time I sort this out and now is as good a time as any to make it happen.
