A little catch up from me
Hello everybody
I just wanted to check in.
I will have 5 years of no drinking in Feb 2017.
I work full time, as hard as I can do. I feel it is an honour to have a career and be able to be self sufficient.
My daughter is 7 now and 9 times out of 10 she is a delight.
She still sleeps in bed with me every night, but secretly I like it, even though I say she is too old to be sleeping with her mummy!!!!!!
She has never seen me drink, which I am grateful for.
We have a really good life together.
We moved to our own place a year ago and it is great. She started a new school when we moved and she is very happy there.
I had some problems at my job before this one and they didn't extend my contract.
My 'team' also thought I was a weirdo because I did not drink or swear or smoke.
I thought they were a bunch of weirdo's too to be honest.
In days of old I would have drank myself silly over that. Not this time. I just dealt with it and moved on.
Life is quite quiet but I am so happy for not having the drama of drinking too much in my life anymore. I would not change a thing - apart from maybe one nights sleep away from a 7 year old who snores and shouts about pasta in her sleep.
Always remember that I might not be here all the time, but you are all never far from my thoughts. I love each and everyone of you.
I know its wrong to have favourites but Dee is still my favourite and I love him and his wisdom and calm so very much.
Was nice to stop by! xx

Sasha, it's wonderful to hear from you and congratulations on 5 years of recovery. I love how you dealt with the problems at your old job and moved on. That is truly a gift of recovery. And, I love having a quiet life, too. The drama in my drinking life was exhausting.
