Happy that you didn't extend your decision to get high. I'm also curious as how it came to be that you were in a position to be holding drugs that, as it seems, have been to this point locked up and dispensed by your husband; drugs with which you already knew you have a problem. And what you were thinking leading up to actually taking the drugs.

Given the little information you've offered around the circumstances that brought you to having the drugs in your sole possession, your relapse, or whatever you choose to describe it as, seems much more like a plan than an accident.
I thougt about that. Did I plan to do this? No it was a choice. I was told and I agreed to bring the prescription home and he would fill it. I chose to fill it instead. I thought I could handle it. So I did. And then when I got the bag Ihad to open it and take it. This medicine doesn't get me high. It calms me down. It isn't something I seek out. That is why I don't understand why i took it.

It wasn't an accident and it wasn't planned. It just happened.

NA would say that it is a mind-altering drug and by taking it I am not clean. Even though I take it as prescribed. And I am prescribed it. Then because of that I would be asked not to share...
This is NOT true. Although some members may think this way, this is NOT what NA says at all. Go to their website and search for 'prescribed medication' and check out what comes up. Here are a few (but not all) examples of what NA actually says................:

In Times of Illness.............:
https://na.org/admin/include/spaw2/u...%20Illness.pdf
"...we share the experience of many members who are required to take prescribed medication and keep their recovery intact..."

"...Life in recovery can be complicated by illness and the possibility
that we may need to take prescribed medication..."

"...Cleantime is an issue for each of us to resolve individually with our sponsor and our Higher Power..."

Information about NA...............:
https://na.org/admin/include/spaw2/u...n_about_NA.pdf
"...NA as a whole has no opinion on outside issues, including prescribed medications..."

Bulletin #29...............:

NA Groups and Medication.....................:

This is just a starter list; go check it all out for yourself,,,,,,,,,,,

Thank you for providing this information. I was going by what members have said, not what NA days. Now I know. Thank you.

I have had bad experiences at NA, but it was probably just that meeting. Never felt more unwelcomed in my life. But that is a whole other story.
