Yes indeed for the few cricket lovers out here, I am 111 days sober. So far the day has gone well for the batting side. I played a googly with a straight bat and my wicket is intact.

The googly was a wicked one. One of my best friends died in a car accident earlier in the week. It was her funeral today or as it is now called a "celebration of her life". Hundreds of people attended. She was that sort of person. Positive, outgoing, caring and funny. I never thought I would live in a world which does not have my friend in it. It's sh*t.

I thought of the many chances luck has given me. I am still here. The wicket will always play difficult from time to time. We all face bouncers and curved balls. All we can do is play on.

My friend played with abundance every second of her life. I hope to keep that in mind as I struggle with not drinking.

I hope to waste not another second of my life. Very sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss.

Prayers.

Glad you are still sober.

Love your Cricket analogy. It made me smile.

Thanks for the post.

Sure, as long as you accept that "waste" is subjective. Some may consider posting online a waste.

So sorry to hear about the loss of your friend Darwinia. A celebration of life does sound more uplifting

I would add my congratulations to you on not drinking
