I'm in!
Day 10. Feeling a little more optimistic about this weekend than last weekend.

You know what's a total drag? Measuring your life in 6 minute intervals. (Yes, that means I'm behind in my time entry this month.)

6 minute intervals?? Wow. Good luck with that. I think the most precise I ever had to be was 15 minutes. Bad enough.

Hi cajunprincess!

Yay trach's riding roof with me and hawkeye yippee! Did anybody bring sunscreen?

Only half a day left till my weekend starts! I'm doing a lot of babysitting this weekend (what's new ha) and godsons insurance has been sorted out so I'll take him for his 18 month check up tomorrow!

I haven't seen any more grease or whatever it was in my washing machine so hopefully it was just a fluke!? Came home at lunch and made a coffee cake and paid bills. I love having a long lunch break but it's hard getting motivated to go back to work after being home. I'm jealous of Sao who's already finished his workday! Have fun with your daughter this weekend, Sao!

I go home for lunch almost every day - it is very hard to go back, especially when the weather is like it is today. I'm looking forward to hiking after work.

I'm very tired. Learning how to book up the theatre schedule is a pain. I started doing his lists for next week to get a head start and I went to him and said "how do I know which patients to being in?" He said "well there will be 1 or 2 emergencies and then I'll leave it up to you to bring in people from the waiting list!"
I met my friend in the coffee shop today and I told her the above. She said "whoa you have a lot of power there". I'm not entirely comfortable with all of this. Anyway we will see.

I gave himself his folder with letters for signing. As he gave it back he said "I'm glad you look a bit calmer than yesterday!" Bloody hell. I must go around with a face on me that would stop a clock. I know I look serious a lot of the time. I will have to practice smiling in front of the mirror or something

Tetra, you seem to spend a lot of time worried about how people around you are perceiving you--like your post yesterday asking whether we thought you "odd," or your post above worrying that you've got a face on to stop a clock (a wonderful turn of phrase, by the way). I don't have any specific advice for you, but just thought the observation may be helpful. Remember, ultimately it comes down to how comfortable you are in your own skin. In order to do that, you simply have to work to give up caring about others' perceptions of you. (Okay, so maybe a little bit of advice).

Anyway, I think you're doing great with your new position. Any rocky times at the beginning will sort themselves out. Pretty soon you'll be the one with the clean desk!

Ken, I know it looks like I'm stalking you because I've visited your profile page a million times, but really it's because I'm always accidentally tapping your name on my ipad.

Well that's true and is partly the reason why I drank. It's hard to break a habit of so many years.

I am a bit worried yes. I received a copy of my contract via internal post this morning. There was a long list of points. Number 20 or whatever was something like 'subject to regular assessments' and I know I'm being monitored carefully.

After I was threatened with the sack on day 1 by my line manager, I am also aware that she could 'push me off the cliff' at any time and I'm under no illusions about that.

LOL That's not something I can see. I can see last visitors but not how many times. I rarely look at my profile.

I've been perusing the "Reasons to drink today" thread. Highly recommended for any SR newcomers. I go there any time I feel like I'm starting to forget how bad it was.
