The morning is my favorite!
Made it to 6th morning waking up sober and ready to start the day. Evenings are rough but the thought of how I will feel in the morning is driving me forward. My relationship and attentiveness to my children is good. They are young and I feel guilty for how much I missed out on due to sleeping it off or simply waiting until the day was over. I look back at young pictures of them and it makes me sad. I can't get that time back. I am hopeful that this has come to an end and I will no longer have missed moments.

I LOVE my mornings. My routine is set as far as my recovery work goes and I don't skip it. I am one of those who likes to get up hours before I have to be anywhere, so I can really enjoy my time AND get stuff done.
You have motivation and a good start! What's your plan for recovery?
Good luck.

I need ro work on that plan. I was a binge drinker mostly. Nothing in the house. Have been to two events this week. Struggled but as long as I didn't have that first one it's been working. Reading alot and getting some great insight! This site helps as well.
I spent most of the night up with my sick three year old. The weather is miserable outside. I've got a lot to do today.
BUT, I'm sober and present for my kids. Even a blah sober morning is light years better than waking up with the shakes and taking a slug of tequila before my coffee in the morning, just to stave off withdrawal.
In short, I agree. Mornings are the best.

I'm with you! Morning and how I feel in the morning is sometimes the thing I hold onto when I'm having a moment. I value sleep, and the delicate way the sun comes up, the birds chirping.... So so much. I couldn't sleep well drinking and couldn't appreciate the morning poisoned by alcohol.
If you think about it one of the most sure fire ways to torture a human being is sleep deprivation. That's what we do to ourselves.
Have a great day.
