Hi,
I was on opana for 9 months. I became addicted possibley because I snorted it. The Dr. stopped giving it to me. Blessing in disguise. I have a additive personality and all I can think about are pills. Ways of getting high.
I am seeing a pain management Dr. for chronic pain. The first month, I had some medical emergencies and filled scripts from different Dr.s. Dentist, pcp, all were legitimate but the pain management Dr gives me (45) 5/325 hydrocodone a month. The scripts I filled were for 10 pills a couple of times and 20 once. I was warned that one more time, I would be dismissed. They gave me a post dated script for another month. So I didn't have any pain pills for a month. I was still having the same problems from the previous month. Again, I was given 10 pills from urgent care and on another occasion 10 pills from the er. I use the same pharmacy but I moved. I still use the same pharmacy but in the city I live in. Before filling the scripts after being warned, I called and left 3 messages. I never got a call back. I was still in pain and the dr. Office was closed,so I went to another urgent care because of the move. The Dr. Said she saw me as a red flag because of the different locations, and dr.s. All are legitimate. I know my pain management Dr will release me so, I filled his script today,and I am going to cancel my contract. It does look like I am dr. Shopping but I am not. I don't think I have officially been red flagged, so I am canceling before he discharges me. 45 pills a month is not enough for my conditions. This is the first contract I have ever signed. I have seen 3 pain management Dr in a year. One, they quit accepting my insurance. The second dr. Was the one giving me opana, and I stopped seeing him because I knew I was addicted and his receptionist told me he wouldn't give me anymore. Thank god. It took me 3 months to get back to normal. The third dr. I signed the cintract with. I am not addicted in regards to using more than needed. I also do not go to a dr. For pain medication. It just happened that I needed 10 a couple of times.mind you he post dated my script skipping an entire month. So the month that was skipped, I probably was prescribed a total of 40 pills for that month. Today is when I was able to fill my 45 from my pain management Dr. He is not giving me enough for the issues that are happening,ie. Arthritis in my most of my body, seeing specialists for my conditions. Unfortunately, one dr. Cant treat all, and skipping an entire month, I needed something for pain.I tried 3 times to ask if I can fill them and no call back. There are only 4 in the 4 closest cities. All but one do not prescribe narcs. I can't take nsaids due to bleeding ulcer. What are my chances that the only pm dr left will take me on as a patient? In this state, they can pull up what and where I have ever filled. I don't know what to do. I can't stop thinking about them bc I am scared not having them when I have pain.I see massage therapy once a month. Tried acupuncture for almost a year. Physical therapy, exercising as much as tolerated. It's just not enough. Medical marijuana is legal but causes me migraines. Help, do you think I have a chance of another pm dr helping me get the right amount of medication and even taking me on. My husband goes to every appointment since the opana incident. He was there gor that,and all of my attempts of different types of treatments. My rheumatologist prescribed me lyrica and it has helped about 50%. If I cancel my contract before they discharge me, do I have a chance at being accepted by another pain management Dr. I will definitely let them know 45 isn't enough and see what my options are before signing another contract. Please help, this consumes my thoughts all day, causing anxiety and depression. My additive personality is making me crazy bc I am scared of not having anything but Tylenol to control some pain. Without pain meds, I have to take 4000 mg of Tylenol to be able to walk and stand for 30% of the day. Thanks!
