Melina, yes thanks for asking, doing well. Today is #13. I think I need to talk more, about my plans, even just a few words. I'm so private. But I read literature, meditate, an renew my sober commitment every morning, first half hour I am awake -and plan the day from a sobriety pov. So far so good.
hey all... I woke up on the couch at 430... eh? crawled into bed and slept till 830...
did a few errands and while I was getting something at ww, I accidentally picked up a bunch of flowers to plant
I put up a big shade canopy over the cauliflower and made a rudimentary evaporative cooling system, with a 'tunnel', fan etc... I am going to give these things a lot of love...
very nice tribute to your mother Ken
well I had two frozen burritos for blunchfast... I stocked up the fridge with pelligrino, and some other drinks... going to go to garage and put my dirty clothes back on and get back to work on the 'steps'... I found out yesterday the sun goes just enough past the trees that I have shade for a few hours - that time is now........................ later

Oh, hey. Good afternoon everyone. Trudging on the happy road of destiny or something like that.
It's beautiful and sunny and not quite so miserably hot today. I went to a meeting at 8 and read a little and was digging in the garden.
Mr. Ruby. Whatever.
I think I'm going to my parents and borrow their tiller. Lazy day today, sort of.
Sounds like Marty is being really lazy. Have fun lady.
I can't see Sao's pics on my phone so I'll go to the iPad later on.
Ken, that was a lovely remembrance of your mother. I think of my grandmother when the lilacs are blooming.
Time to call my parents. If they're not home, I'll revamp my plan for the day.

Basking in the brilliant sun beside my pool. A charmed and privileged life I have. Worked this morning so I deserve this. 13 days, yeah that's good, real good keep going. Working in the shade is the best. Tilling isn't for the lazy.
I just talked to my dad. Really it's such a pleasure to talk to him. I don't know how him and my mom ever got together but I think she was a different person then (very outgoing).
He said we will talk to you in the morning if you would like us to call to make sure you are up. I was like "yeah, in case I'm in the shower or something when you call"...he said "yeah, we won't presume anything. Have a good day tomorrow. If you don't understand something, just ask. Anyway you are more than capable. Good luck".
I plan to be gone early. I used to work at this place before. My usual routine was to arrive a bit early and go for an Americano at the coffee shop across the road. I loved that 20 minutes of "me time". My time to think and get my head together before the madness.
Ok I was nervous but I'm getting excited now!

Awesome pic I remember when 3 aggressive squirrels came running at me and some friends years ago lol normally squirrels are friendly ... shy if anything well apart from baxter our resident squirrel feasting on our birdfeeders and suet treats

Bumped into a friend earlier and decided it was time to enter a pub for the first time since I started my sobriety,we didn't talk about anything connected to my drinking, and just caught up as we hadn't seen each other for a few months. I felt nervous entering but slowly relaxed, had half a pint of coke and left after half hour or so. It was a nice feeling to walk out knowing I hadn't given in and proved to my self I can be surrounded by alcohol for a small period of time and Be my self. It was only a small step but definitely one in the right direction.
Well I'm dirty, hot and tired but I got my tomatoes in. I'm going to the grocery store after a shower. I've had uncomfortable thoughts of drinking and hope I can find something special to drink at the store that isn't soda. I have a taste for lime something
