I'm glad you are completely committed to not drinking during your pregnancy. I guess the only person who needs to be completely convinced is you. Maybe once the shock is over, and you immerse yourself in the pregnancy, your obsession will let up. Hang in there.
I know my therapist knows a whole lot more than I do, but I was a little upset at something she said today. I told her I won't drink because I will not harm my baby. But she seemed like she had no confidence in me, that that's not how alcoholics think. Not her exact words, but you get the gist.
I have all sorts of emotions right now, and I know that's to be expected with early sobriety and being pregnant and all. I'm just here to remind myself one day at a time and to be positive.

I am scared though of the binge drinking I did prior to finding out. I'm just trying not to worry and hope that everything will ok. I've done "research" on the Internet and can't really seem to find any bad news from other mothers that have asked about my fear above.
Will you be honest with your obstetrician , about your binge drinking? I think you'll feel better supported, if your doctor knows, in addition to your therapist.
I'm a retired pre-school director. We had a little boy once, whose family adopted him from Russia. He suffered from Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, which is common in Russia. Life was very hard for him and his family
