Question Lack of Appetite

Hi, so I just picked up my 6 month chip a couple of weeks ago. I have noticed that I have yet to gain my appetite. I track everything I eat, and I consume calories but I make myself. Is this common for anyone else?

Welcome wrknhrder!

Six months seems to be enough time for your body to adjust.

I would bring this up with my Doctor. Are you losing weight?

I found that once I got passed the first month my appetite sky rocketed!

Now I am tracking what I eat like yourself, but for the opposite reason I want to make sure that I keep my calories in check!

I would talk to a doctor about it honestly, everyone I know that has gotten sober has gained weight, not lost it.

Hi and welcome wrknhrder

That certainly wasn't my experience.

Seeing as it's been 6 months, if you haven't seen a Dr yet, I'd encourage you to do so, just to get checked out?

D

No, my appetite came back quickly.

As others have said, talking to your dr could be a good idea.

I'd also suggest seeing your doctor about it. Congrats on six months sober!

I'm a bit over 4 months from drinking an ocean of beer. I lost weigh for a month or two but that's not the case anymore.

At three and half months sober, I have absolutely no appetite and have lost 55 lbs since October. On the one hand its good because I was overweight, but its scary to loose that much in such a short period of time. I have to force myself to eat. It would be nice to just eat and enjoy it, but I just haven't gotten there.
