Day 20 opiate withdrawal.... Extreme weakness

I am on day 20 now off of heroin and I am so weak it's not even funny. I don't get better each day. It fluctuates greatly from one to the next. Today is the worse since like the first week.... My body aches. I have the naltrexone implant, is it the implant? Like I asked a doctor and no one knows I'm so weak. I was not told this would happen.... I have school, work, kids and I'm missing all of it. I don't have anymore time. Help? What's wrong with me??!?

Best advice I can give you would be to ask your doctor these questions. It might be a good idea to have a complete physical to rule out physical causes.

I'm glad you've been checked out by your dr, but if you feel as bad as you say, I think your only option is to go back and ask for more advice.

The doctor is like clueless. Normal medical family doctors are clueless to addiction Medicine. Unless they specialize in it , you are screwed.

You can have reasons, or you can have results, but you can't have both.

Naturally you'll want to bounce this off your doc. They may be able to help.

Fully detoxing from substance abuse isn't a speedy proposition. It does take time. Be patient. Learn as much as you can about how to maximize your underlying health. 'Cuz that's what you're doing -- you're healing from a long-term illness.

When I went through chemotherapy, it was about 3 months after the last treatment before I fully felt better. Time and patience!
