I'm so sorry for the loss of your beloved cat. I have dogs and cats myself so I understand your loss. I'm glad you didn't drink over it.

Congrats on 10 months sober and welcome to the family.

Our pets are family, or nearer, and certainly more pure -- the loss is so hard. I recently had to put down my old decrepit dog. She just was not having a good time any more. She felt so sick. And that was darned hard to do.

I'm so glad you did not pick up, Waterlogged. You know that way only holds more pain, deeper regret. Come join us over on the Survive and Thrive Weekender thread, if you would like some company and support...we're all living real lives with all that entails...except no booze.

Hello and welcome. I know what it's like to lose a pet. It's just heartbreaking.
That's why I don't have any pets now, if I lost them it would be too much for me to handle.
But, please don't drink over it. I Just remember the misery alcohol brought me and it didn't make the grief any less. Just more anxiety and regret.

I feel for you and wish you the best.

Waterlogged, how have you been managing to stay sober these last 10 months? Must have hit on some things that work for you. Excellent work!! Please seek and accept all the additional support you may need to keep your sobriety intact, and yourself growing and healing.

Sending you big hugs! I lost my pet bunny of 12 years and I was heartbroken! It is so hard. She was with me through my darkest hours. It hurt so bad when I lost her. HUGE HUGS to you!

You're welcome to post anywhere on the boards and hanging out here in the Newcomers Forum is a good place to meet people. If you read and post, it won't take long to connect with people.

I'm so very sorry about the loss of your cat.
