Insurance against relapse
I have been sober a month now and I am begining to see that things can get better. I am dianosed mentally ill but understand that I may be unwell in other areas of my life , if I don't stay sober. Alcoholism was explained to me as a three-fold illness : Physical , Mental and Spiritual , and no matter how bad things get , I know that every day I am sober , I am taking out insurance against another possible slip. When I am unsure how I am doing all I need to do is remind myself how grateful I am to be sober. Some people find writing a list of all the things that they are grateful for is helpful , too. My mental disorder can be described as grave but if I have the capacity to be honest and say a prayer , in times of peril (serenity prayer), I know that I too can recover. But for the Grace of God
Possible recommendations (that work for me).
