I maybe helped someone

I was in the lunch area at my outpatient drug and alcohol education program thru my insurance. This young guy from one of my groups said he was doing well and finally quit using. He said he always thinks about the story I shared about doing a stage dive at a concert and not getting caught. (Note: I did not get caught because, as I was later informed, there was no one there when I jumped) It makes him laugh he said. He was so much happier than I had ever seen him. Of course my story didn't get him sober but I'm excited that I brought some lightness to his journey. I never think I have much to offer with my story. I made him smile and then he made me smile. Nice.

It must have helped! That's why I come here. If just one of my posts touches someone and inspires them to give sobriety another shot then all my efforts will have been worthwhile.

. People here do help. I started coming back here while I was still drinking. Now I'm 25 days sober.

Wonderful😊. I'm sure you can help many others. There are people on this board who have helped me a lot who don't realize it.

And that includes posters who are still trying to sober up, reminding me of my alcohol obsessed days, and those who relapsed, reminding me it can happen if I get too comfortable with sobriety.
Thanks for sharing
