Next piece of my recovery plan
Today I met with a new therapist. He works mostly with somatic therapy. The idea is finding the traumas that led to triggering the fight or flight response that I treated with alcohol and resolving the neurological issues in my body that lead me back to picking up the bottle. It's just one piece in my plan, but as the nervous system is just an extension of the brain, finding physiological trigger points and neutralizing or learning how to peacefully coexist with them without doing what they say is a good tool to have at my disposal. Tomorrow is three weeks I think. This seems like a good time to start pickng up techniques other than white-knuckling.
